How to Make WhatsApp Video Call on PC, Desktop, or Laptop
Whether you use the standard WhatsApp Desktop app or the new WhatsApp Beta version, WhatsApp video call on PC is easier than ever. Both options let you make video calls directly from your PC, desktop, or laptop to connect with friends, family, or colleagues without picking up your phone.
WhatsApp Video calls on PC using WhatsApp Desktop App:
- Download WhatsApp on your PC or laptop and install it.
- Open an app, and a QR code will appear on the screen.
- Open WhatsApp on the phone you want to connect, Settings > Linked Devices > Link a Device.
- Place your phone’s camera over the QR code and complete the scan
- After scanning successfully, your chats will start loading and show
- Open the contact you want to video call
- Tap the video call icon in the top right corner of the screen.
- When you start a WhatsApp video call on PC for the first time and click the call icon, a pop-up will appear asking for camera and microphone access.
- Click “Allow” or “Yes” so that WhatsApp can access your camera.
- If it’s been denied accidentally, follow these steps to give access manually.
- On Windows: Start > Settings > Privacy & security > Camera/Microphone > On permissions of WhatsApp Desktop app
- On Mac: System Settings > Privacy & Security > Camera/Microphone >Enable permissions for WhatsApp desktop app.
- Now the call will start; you can mute/unmute and turn the camera on/off as needed.
- Press the end button to hang up.
For IPad(iPad IOS)
- Go to the App Store and search for “WhatsApp” and download it
- Open the app and get started
- Open an app, and a QR code will appear on the screen
- Open WhatsApp on the phone you want to connect, Settings > Linked Devices > Link a Device.

Essential Tips for WhatsApp Video Calls on PC
- WhatsApp video and voice calling are unavailable on WhatsApp Web (browser) and are available only on the Desktop and Beta apps.
- Group video calls are still limited on desktops as well. Only a 1-on-1 call is supportive yet.
