Facebook Dating Not Showing Up: Here’s Why and How to Fix It
Fix Facebook Dating that is missing or not visible with these simple steps
If Facebook Dating isn’t showing up in your app, you are not alone. Many users find the Dating tab missing from their app without any explanation. There are a few common reasons for this, and most of them can be fixed easily.
What is Facebook Dating?
Facebook Dating is a free dating feature built directly into the Facebook mobile app. It is not a separate app, it lives inside Facebook itself. You can use it to create a dating profile, browse matches, and connect with people. It also integrates with Instagram so you can add your Instagram posts to your Dating profile.
Why is this feature not showing up?
There are several confirmed reasons the Dating feature may not appear. Here is a breakdown of each one.
You don’t meet the eligibility requirements
According to the Facebook Help Center, to use Facebook Dating you must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Have a Facebook account in good standing for at least 30 days
- Live in a country where Dating is available
If your account is new, or your birthday on Facebook shows you are under 18, the Dating option will simply not appear. You can verify your birthday by going to Settings > Account Center > Personal Details > Birthday.
Facebook Dating is not available in your country
This is one of the most common reasons. Facebook Dating is not available worldwide. As of 2026, it is available in the following countries:
Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Bolivia, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Ecuador, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Guyana, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Laos, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Malta, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Paraguay, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Suriname, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, United Kingdom, United States, Uruguay, Vietnam.
Notable omissions: India, Pakistan, Australia, Japan, and most of Africa and the Middle East are not on the list. If your country is not listed, Facebook Dating will not show up regardless of any other settings.
You are using a Business or Creator account
If your Facebook account is set up as a Creator or Business account, Facebook Dating will not be available. This is a known limitation confirmed by Reddit users. In your Facebook settings, if you see “Creator Options” instead of regular personal account options, that is likely the reason. You would need to switch back to a personal profile to access Dating.
The Dating tab is hidden in your navigation bar
Sometimes Dating is enabled on your account but is simply hidden from the tab bar. This happens when users customize their Facebook navigation accidentally.
To check this:
- Open the Facebook app
- Go to Settings and Privacy > Settings
- Scroll down and tap Tab bar (or Navigation bar on some versions)
- Tap Customize the bar
- If Dating appears in the hidden list, tap it and pin it back to your tab bar
You deleted your Dating profile recently
If you recently deleted your Facebook Dating profile, you will need to wait 7 days before you can create a new one. During that period, the Dating option will not appear at all.
Your account has a policy violation
If your account has any violations of Facebook’s Terms of Service or Community Standards, the Dating feature will be disabled. You can check your account standing by going to:
Menu > Help and Support > Account Status
Look for a green checkmark next to your profile. If there is no green checkmark, your account has restrictions that block access to Dating.
Contact Facebook Support
If nothing works and you meet all requirements:
- Go to Menu > Help and Support > Help Center
- Search “Dating” and tap the relevant result
- Scroll down to find Submit a Support Ticket, or shake your phone to trigger Report a Problem
- Describe the issue and submit
To summarize, Facebook Dating not showing up is most often caused by region restrictions, account age, a hidden navigation tab, or an active VPN. Work through each reason in this guide and you should be able to get it back
